Front Landscaping • Although several attempts to correct problematic landscaping have been made over the last three seasons most of what surrounded the front entrance either died this past winter or has been replaced several times • A soil sample was taken and professional review occurred • With the plantings out of warranty, the dire need to fix this issue - The W.E.H.A. Board has selected a new lay-out which combines remaining plants with additional and more traffic/pollutant (road salt) friendly plants • The project was bid and Precision Landscaping will be conducting the repairs/installation this week

  6. W.E.H.A. Website • The News Letter we mentioned that we have been working on a website to facilitate communications with the WEHA homeowners • The website is now complete and available for all to access • Please visit us at www.westwoodestateshoa.com

  7. News & Events • New neighbors – Please contact us if we have missed your arrival so that we may get to know you and ensure communications make it your way • Foreclosures - Please help us keep an eye on these subdivision properties • At the beginning of August we will be planning the Kids Halloween Parade for 2009 – If you would like to volunteer or donate, please contact us.

  8. W.E.H.A. Board Elections (Fall) Open W.E.H.A. Board positions Fall 2009: • Two (2) Board positions will expire in the Fall 2009 • The current W.E.H.A. Board positions have been structured to allow for off- setting terms • This condition creates two open Board positions annually • Each W.E.H.A Board position represents a two year term Candidates are elected by the subdivision membership • Actual office positions are appointed by the Board members themselves • Any resident is encouraged to give back to the community and serve as a member of the W.E.H.A Board • No specific skill set is required but proficiency in word processing, budgets and general management are helpful

Home Watch • Several homeowners have expressed interest in an Association “Neighborhood Watch Program.” • Without a volunteer to act as the Ambassador of such a program, we have contacted the Macomb County Sherriff’s Office for their suggestions. • They offer a program called “House Watch” where homeowners leaving town for business or vacation can go online at http://www.macomb-sheriff.com/forms/housewatch_form.htm, or call the main business line at (586)-469-5151, to request regular patrols of the area and specific watch of your address. • Please note that this is for homes in areas regularly patrolled by the Macomb County Sheriff's Office, which includes Westwood Estates.

AccomplishmentsRemaining Goals • Kids Halloween Parade 2009 • Winter Pool Party 2009 • Snow Removal will be re-bid this year • The “Fines Assessment Policy” will be formally rolled-out to the homeowners by the Fall meeting • Website has been developed • May News Letter was sent • Provided feedback on the Neighborhood Watch request – “Home Watch” provided by the Sheriffs Department • DTE billing updated to the WEHA LLC name and tax ID • A new “Fines Assessment Policy” was drafted by the WEHA Legal Counsel and was accepted by the WEHA Board • A dawn to dusk sensor added to front lighting.
