  12. Famous from Connecticut Harriet Beecher Stowe • Born in Litchfield, Connecticut in 1811. • Moved to Cincinnati where she came in contact with fugitive slaves. • Authored Uncle Tom’s Cabin in 1851. • Spent her life speaking against slavery both in America and Europe.
