  7. If you have never read or heard the original story of "The Three Little Pigs" then look it up on the internet before continuing. I’ve always been misunderstood. I’m allergic to hay. I can’t help it that when I’m near hay, I huff and I puff and I sometimes blow things down. No one has any reason to be afraid of me, but sometimes they are. What happened to those poor little pigs is sad, but it was their own fault. 1. Step 3: A final quick read noting anything you may have missed during the first two reads. Your margin notes are a part of your score for this assessment. Answer the questions carefully in complete sentences unless otherwise instructed.

How frequently does this occur?

  16. Most of the planets in our solar system have moons. Saturn has the most, with eighteen moons. Jupiter has sixteen, Uranus has fifteen. Earth has only one, but our moon has a big influence on the lives of humans on earth. In ancient times, people believed that moonlight could affect people’s brains. The Latin word for moon was Luna. Words like “lunatic” and “looney” come from that idea. Many people still believe that more babies are born and more people die when the moon is full. Scientific studies that have been done to see whether the numbers of births and deaths actually increase when there is a full moon show that there is no increase. Gravitational pull from the moon affects the tides in the ocean, but does not seem to affect the births and deaths of people. Does the full moon cause people to fall in love? That’s another question! 1. What is the author’s purpose in writing this piece? • to inform/expository • for entertainment • to persuade • Narrative 2.
