  1. Today’s Bellringer 12/12/12 Choose the correct verb that completes the sentence. 1.) You (read, reads) a story to the children after lunch. 2.) The coffee cups on the shelf (has, have) been washed already. 3.) Those entertainers (is,are) still in the refrigerator. 4.)The bats in the cave( does, do) not come out during the day time. 5.) Those states (is, are) on the Pacific Coast.

  2. Figurative Language Competition Step #1 • Discuss the figurative language you found in your lyrics with your teammates. • After discussing, choose THREE strong examples ( 1 from each person) to submit for credit. Make sure they are your BEST three examples!!!

  3. Step #2 • Each team will share their examples with the larger group, and remaining team has to decide which example of figurative language is being used. • The team will have to write down their selection, and the team that shows the correct answer first will get a point. (Note* each team member must have the correct answer written down in order to get the point.)

  4. Step #3 The winning team(s) will get DONUTS tomorrow!

  5. Allie’s cell phone dropped into the toilet like a falling star.
