  3. Cub Fishing Derby September Volunteer to Help with…. • September 24, 2011 • Sylvan Beach Pier – La Porte • Early registration ends Sep 17 • Volunteer meeting at Sep. RT • Cost $5 per Cub or sibling fishing ($7 after Sep. 17) • Fun Day where Cubs fish and compete in various categories and other activities and games – longest, shortest, most, longest cast, most accurate cast. • Craft table and educational booths. • May have archery if we get a range master! • Need volunteers for: • Registration (3) • Set-up / Tear-down • Troop to build a rope bridge • Certified Range Master(s)!!

  4. Pushmobile October Volunteer to Help with…. • October 29, 2011 • San Jacinto College Central Campus (Spencer Rd. in Pasadena) • Early registration ends Oct. 22 • Volunteer meeting at Oct. RT • Cost $5 per Cub ($7 after Oct. 22) • Get those feet revved up and get ready to race. • Dens race against other Dens in their rank. 2 Volunteers per Pack REQUIRED!! • Need volunteers for: • Set-up / Tear-down • Registration (3) • Car inspection/Check-in (4) • Line Judges (20)

District First Aid Meet January ‘12 Volunteer to Help with…. • January 21, 2012 • Webster Fire Department • Early registration ends Jan 19 • Cost $5 per Webelos or Boy Scout ($7 after Jan. 19) • Two events in one!! • In the morning Webelos work on Readymanand Boy Scouts work on First Aid Merit Badge. • In the afternoon, Boy Scout Patrols compete with winners going to Council First Aid Meet.

  6. Scouting for Food Jan-Feb ‘12 Volunteer your service to…. • January 28 & February 4 • Council wide event in partnership with the Houston Food Bank and Souper Bowl of Caring

Webelos Woods March ‘12 Volunteer to Help with…. • March 2-4, 2012 • Challenger 7 Park - Webster • Scoutmaster Meeting – Feb RT • Webelos Leader Meeting – Feb Rt • Cost - TBD NEW DATE!! • New this year --the Raven has landed– • NEW SPONSOR!! • In the spirit of promoting camping and providing service to the units, the District and the Council, this year the Colonneh Lodge of the OA has volunteered to head up Webelos Woods! • Note: Camporee moved to Oct 26-31, 2012 Need Troops to volunteer to host the competition events.

  8. District Dinner March ‘12 Volunteer to help with…. • March 23, 2012 Time to recognize the valuable volunteers throughout the District. Nominations for LEADERS OF THE YEAR are due no later than March RT (March 1st). • Need volunteers for: • Set-up / Tear-down • Registration (2-3)

  9. Trash Bash March ‘12 Volunteer your service to…. • March 31, 2012 • Various watersheds • Armand Bayou is closest to us • Deadline for pre-approval for Eagle or Hornaday Project – Jan 2012. Council-wide conservation day supporting Houston-Galveston Area Council of Governments Clean Waters Initiative. Open to all Cubs, Boy Scouts and Venturers. Older boys option - - Special projects can qualify for an Eagle Project and/or Hornaday Project.

Twilight Camp June ‘12 Volunteer to Help with…. • June 11-15, 2012 • Pasadena Convention Center • Early registration ends May 3rd • Cost $50 per Cub ($75 after May 3rd) • The big finale to a great Cub year…or maybe a fantastic start to the new year! 1 Volunteer REQUIRED for every 3 boys registered!! Need approx 275 volunteers to run camp!

Popcorn Chairs - Kick-off is Sept. 20th , 2011 Re-charter Chairs - Training Jan 5th, 2012 Scout Fair Participation & Scout Fair Ticket Kick-off is Feb 2nd, 2012 - Event April 14 FOS Presenters and Unit Hosts– Volunteers will be needed at both your Unit and the District Level.

  13. Mark it Every Month Volunteer your service to…. Roundtable – 1st Thursday of the Month*District Committee - Meets 3rd Thursday of the Month* Commissioner Service - Meets 3rd Thursday of the Month* *Some months on a different Thursday so check the calendar. Volunteer to be on Cub Roundtable Staff or to present a special topic at Boy Scout Roundtable. Be active on the District Committee. Think about becoming a Unit Commissioner.
