  1. Network Virtualization Edge (NVE) draft-yong-nvo3-nve-03 Lucy Yong, Frank Xia, Qiang Zu March 2014 London

  2. About This Draft • The doc. specifies NVE data plane interworking functionality between: • NVE and Tenant Systems • Any pair of NVEs • Use terminologies defined in framework/architecture doc. • Use function components defined in architecture doc. • Not define or redefine any component • No intention to define an encapsulation protocol for NVE • Assume that one of available protocol will be used

  3. Draft Coverage • Interoperability functions per NVE service type • Between TS and NVE • Between NVEs • Interoperability between NVEs • Tunnel EPs interworking • Route Path Control • Split NVE • Multi-Homing • OAM Tools • Operation Considerations • VM mobility • Use of GW or Distributed GW Focus on Data Plane Interoperability

  4. Need Suggestion from WG • Open Questions: • Some text overlaying b/w the arch. and this doc, where is the right splitting line between two docs? • Should this doc. covers OAM tools on NVE or to be addressed in separated drafts?
