  2. Post Secondary Options • College in the High School • Early College Academy • Early Admissions

  3. Student Eligibility • Junior or Senior • Must be in good academic standing • Recommended by high school principal • Satisfy course prerequisites • Admitted to HACC under provisional admissions ( except Early Admit) • Student registers for class • Attends an orientation session

  4. College in the HS • HACC courses taught at High School • Courses taught by HS faculty qualified as • HACC adjuncts • Same content and assessments as on campus classes • Student receives HACC grade on transcript

  5. College in the HS • General Education Courses or Technical/skills courses • Integrate with existing high school curriculum • Enhance existing high school curriculum • Satisfy required seat hours for HACC courses • Meets PA Dept. of Education Standards

  6. College in the HS • SAT Scores Not required • Placement test Per course prerequisite • Course per semester No restriction • Course Location High School

  7. College in the HS • Tuition and Fees • One time $35 non refundable application fee • Tuition $30/credit • Books • Student pays or school adopts HACC text Counts Towards Graduation? Determined by School

  8. Credit Award • Grade, credit earned on HACC transcript • Part of permanent college record • Matriculation into a degree program or as guest students • Transferability to other colleges and universities

  9. Early College Academy • HS or home schooled seniors • Aimed at the “Middle HS Student” • Students take one general education course • one career pathway course and college readiness seminar each semester • Students explore career pathway and early highly transferrable college credits

  10. Early College Academy Senior only program Students take one general education course And one Career Pathway course per semester Students meet as cohort weekly for college Readiness seminar Pathways Healthcare, Business, Exploratory

  11. Early College Academy • SAT Scores Not required • Placement test Recommended for advising purposes • Students must meet course prerequisites • Location Harrisburg Campus • M-F 12:00-3:00

  12. Early College Academy • Tuition and Fees • One time $35 non refundable application fee • $30 /credit tuition award for 1st 50 students • Effective rate $135/credit ( sponsoring rate) • Books • Student responsible for cost Counts Towards Graduation? Determined by School

  13. Early College Academy • Important dates • Enrollment March 1-May 4 • Placement test completed by May 15 • On Campus Advising Session TBD ( late May)

  14. Early Admissions • For accelerated high school/home school juniors and seniors • Students completed majority of HS coursework • Student is admitted as a part time student

  15. Early Admissions • SAT Scores Not required • Placement Testing Math, Reading and Writing test required • Requires ENGL 101 placement • Courses No restrictions ( unless imposed by HS)
