  5. Why get books beyond Walden? • We have a lot! • …but not everything. • Selective purchasing within Walden programs • Not everything is available electronically • Impossible to build a “local” collection • No interlibrary loan (we can’t reciprocate!)

  6. Why not get books beyond Walden?  • Go where the research is! • Technology has changed, making digital texts possible and accessible • Scanning books from libraries • Varying amounts of content • Full books vs. preview • Different formats available
