  3. Who is he? • Dally is one of the four friends which include Johnny, Two-Bits, and Ponny Boy. He is kind of a tough guy who has a big body and is strong. He likes to ask girls out, too. • He is one of the best fighters in the group. • The most feared of the group.

  4. Profile • He was first sent to jail at the age of 10. • Spent 3 years in jail. • Just gets out of jail at the beginning of the story. • So dangerous that even Darry doesn’t mess around with him. • Used to be in a tough gang in New York City.

  5. Characteristics • Ice cold eyes. • Feels responsibility for Jonny. • Does not put grease on hair. • Takes pride in criminal record. • Very tough and stern. • When he fights, he goes really mad and crazy.

  6. Personality • He comes out in the book as a very stern person, scary and tough. • Although his looks and how he is described, he is actually kind to his friends. • Boy of many faces. • When inside the gang, he is tough and hard, but when he is with strangers that pick up a fight, he gets more harder and tougher than before.
