2. OBJECTIVES • To develop an interactive network of NGOs committed to achieving excellence in the field of disaster reduction and response. • To raise the relevant concerns of NGOs in the Asia-Pacific region to the larger community of NGOs globally, through various international forums and platforms • To promote best practices and standards in disaster reduction and response • To provide a mechanism for sharing reliable information and facilitating capacity building among network members and other stakeholders

3. THE ADRRN IN 2007-2008 PARTNERSHIP IN THE FIELD • Tsunami • Capacity building of local governments/NGOs in the earthquake affected areas of Pakistan • Building Resilience to Tsunamis in the Indian Ocean with ISDR funded by EC (“Selamat” toolkit) • Bangladesh Cyclone Sidr • Cyclone Nargis NETWORKING/CAPACITY BUILDING • Website • •E-groups • Training each other

PUBLICATIONS • NGO reporting towards achievement of HFA in Asian region • Partners handbook CONFERENCES • Participated in many international conferences including Global Platform meeting organized by UN/ISDR (Vice Chair of GPDRR), 2nd Asian Ministerial Meeting in India, IOTWS etc WORKSHOPS • Organized two Building Safer Organizations (BSO) Investigation and Management Workshops with HAP • Accountability Workshops • Annual meeting for members
