Focus on Industry Relations • Develop and promote synergy that exists between Industry Relations and Membership Development • Section Chair Action Item Memo (October 2002) • Pursue RAB IRC Metrics for 2003: • Categorize firms by type • Increase the number of firms in the IRC database • Increase the number of Industry visits • Document the success rate of follow up visits to Industry • Raise the number of Section and Chapter Industry Relations representatives • Increase the number of awards given to corporations • Assist IRC in developing and implementing an IR Pilot Program within Region 2

Membership Development in Sections • Make personal contact with MD Rep in each Section of Region 2 • Discuss current MD activities within Section / Chapter meetings – share ideas with all Sections through e-mail to Region MD list PACE, GOLD, WIE, Student Activities, Awards Programs • Encourage / promote business card exchange at Section / Chapter functions • Recruitment awards • Senior Membership awards

Membership Development Retreat • February 28 – March 2, 2003 • New Brunswick, NJ • Objective is to learn “tricks of the trade” • Information and tools to perform MD tasks • Develop Region MD Plan • Share best practices • Provide input to MD Committee on suggested programs or initiatives to boost membership recruitment and retention

  8. GOALS for 2003 In order to attract new members and retain existing members, we have to demonstrate an attractive, viable, and progressive organization, especially at the local (Section) level.

Goals for 2003 • Synergy w/ Industry Relations • Collect Company Information Worksheets submitted by each Section (100%) representing their major business areas • Collect and provide solid Region 2 input to IRC Metrics • Encourage Corporate support/sponsorship of local Section activities • Involve Companies in local Section awards programs – provide due recognition for both technical and programmatic support • Southern New Jersey Section has established a solid foundation in this area

  10. Goals for 2003 • Quality • Document active Membership Development activities for each Section (as well as Chapters where possible) • Quantity • Assess and show increases in areas of: • Total membership • Active membership • Senior membership – minimum 2 new elevations per Section • Retention
