  7. ASEAN PLUS 3 FIELD EPIDEMIOLOGY TRAINING NETWORK (ASEAN+3 FETN)

Brief Description Vision: Field epidemiology training (FET) established in all ASEAN+3 Countries adequate support, capable human resources and productive work to help prevent and control outbreaks, emerging diseases and other public health events in the country and the region. Implemented by FETN Steering Committee Rotation of Chair by volunteer (Thailan -2012, Myanmar-2013, Philippines-2014, Indonesia-2015, Viet Nam-2016,...) Coordinating office in Thailand Report to AEGCD and SOMHD+3

Workplan (2012-2015) Capacity building Annual trainer/trainee exchange activity Regional writing workshop (February 2012) Prevent & control public health events through collaboration in surveillance, investigation, etc. Joint surveillance system evaluation with FET platform (2012, Thailand & Cambodia) Conduct tabletop & field joint outbreak investigation (2013-2015, Indonesia & Philippines) HFMD: workshop (completed, 2012), surveillance system evaluation (2013, Thai), and investigation tool (2013, Philippines) Policy, communication & information sharing Informal/formal information sharing (VDO conferences) Publications & advocacy
