  6. SPECIALIZED CELL Found in groups or colonies Do different, particular jobs ***The larger a plant or animal is, the more specialized cells it contains.

  7. MULTI-CELLULAR CELL “Many cells’ Carry out several different jobs or functions Examples: Blood cells (Red blood cell, White Blood Cell) Muscle cells Nerve cells Skin cells Bone cells Fat cells Reproductive cells

  8. UNICELLULAR CELL “One cell” Carry out all the required functions (Ex. Food intake and movement) Examples: Chlamydomonas Bacteria Sporozoans Amoeba Flagellates Ciliates

  9. TISSUE Groups of similar cells Examples: Muscle tissue, skeletal tissue

  10. ORGANS Groups of groups of similar cells (Group of tissues) Examples: Heart, Lungs, Kidney, Liver, Eyes

  11. Why are cells different? They have different functions They have different locations They have different shapes and sizes They have different appearances

  12. CELL THEORY states that: All living things, or organisms, are made up of cells New cells are created by old cells dividing in two. All cells are similar to each other, bit not identical.
