  11. 2019 - Summer Objectives • Strength – Develop power & explosiveness • Conditioning – Develop a high cardiovascular fitness level • Speed Development – “Run fast to get faster” • Skill Development – Position specific, practice how you play • Flexibility – Stretch straps, rollers • Football Specific Conditioning – “Football speed kills”, C.O.D., short distance : short rest

Prevention Areas for Football • Neck/Traps – Concussions, Spinal Injuries • Shoulders – Impact, tackling, blocking, falling on ground • Ankle – Common injury, may be preventable • Hips/Glutes– Flexibility, “stay low; play low”, “low man wins” • Forearms/Hands –Hand/finger strength, “tough hands”

  16. 2019 - Spring Commitment • Those who are playing Spring Sports: • Continue as is until your season is over • Once Spring Sports season is complete: • Weight Lifting M/W/F, 2:30-3:30

  17. 2019 - Spring Mini Camp – no cost • For current 9th, 10th, 11th Graders (Not current 8th graders) • Goals: Get a head start, Installation of O and D • Location: RHS • Dates: Monday June 3th to Friday June 7th 2:45pm until 5pm

  18. 2019 - Summer Commitment - $150 • For current 8th,9th,10th,11th Graders – 7 weeks • Monday June 17th to Friday August 2th • Optional for current 8th graders • M,T,Th,F: 10am to noon • Black shorts, white t-shirt or Radnor football t-shirt & black cleats • Weight Lifting / Conditioning / Football Field Work • Family Vacations: GO!! (just let Coach know)

  20. 2019 – Physicals / Forms • Cannot be completed before 6/1/19 • Current 9th,10th,11th Graders, Physical must be turned in to Coach Ryan no later than Friday August 2nd • Physical is required to start full practice • Current 8th graders (Freshmen in the fall), Physicals are due on or before the first day of practice (8/26). OR, give them to Coach Ryan over the summer • Also, must be turned in no later than Friday August 2nd • PIAA form, Permission To Treat form • All Forms located on website. • www.radnorfootball.com

  35. Varsity Jackets • Available to all Radnor Football Players • Order once per year, first week in September • Jacket designed for Varsity Letter placement • Cost – about $200

  36. Current 8th Graders • VOLUNTARY Summer lifting starts Monday June 17th from 10am to 12pm. We will meet every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday throughout the summer. Players should wear black shorts and a Radnor Football shirt or plain white T-shirt. Please bring black football cleats. • Practice will start Monday August 26 – Thursday August 29 from 3pm to 5pm Radnor HS.

Players report 815 am RHS • Friday 8/23: First game, @ Chichester • 8/26: Freshmen Physicals due, practice starts
