  2. Russia has a lot of successes and achievementsthink it is necessary to speak about some of our famous and outstanding people.

  3. Mikhail Lomonosov (1711-1765) He was the father of the Russian science, the founder of Russian literature. He was an outstanding poet. M. Lomonosov was a physicist, an artist, an astrono­mer, a historian and a statesman. He made a telescope. He observed a lot of stars and planets with the help of his tele­scope. Lomonosov wrote the first scientific grammar of Russian language. He was the founder of the first Russian university. This university is named after M. Lomonosov and it is situated in Moscow.

  4. Igor Kurchatov (1902-1960) He was a famous Russian physicist and a statesman. Kurchatov began a very im­portant experimental work in nuclear physics. He headed the work on the use of atomic energy in our country from 1943. He wanted to use his nuclear achieve­ments only for the good of all people in the world.

  5. Andrei Sakharov (1921-1989) Sakharov is an oustanding person in our country. He was a great scientist. He took an active part in developing the hydrogen bomb. He understood that any atomic and nuclear weapons should be banned. He respected men and fought for human rights in Russia. He was awarded with the Nobel Peace prize in 1975. He was a humanist and fought for justice, peace, human rights. He was a great scientist and a public figure.

  6. Yuri Gagarin (1934-1968) He was the first cosmonaut in the world. On April 12, 1961, Yuri Gagarin flew into the space and spent 108 minutes there. It was the first time in history that the Russian spaceship "Vostok" with the man on board was in the space. 1 am sure that Y. Gagarin is a real hero of our country.
