  3. The last 12 months • Head injuries - Prevention of post concussion syndrome • RCF feasibility study to develop an intervention for parents of young children • Service evaluation of children (older) discharged from ED after mTBI to assess persistence of symptoms #BHPhitconf

  4. The last 12 months • Conference: “Making it happen: Child injury prevention and care” 17th March 2016 • ED surveillance of trampoline injuries following opening of AirHop • Development of an in-hospital care pathway for open tibial fractures #BHPhitconf

  5. Supporting Action through First-aid Education (SAFE) • Commissioned by British Red Cross • Aim: to determine population groups with the potential to benefit from first aid education • 10 month study - qualitative and survey methods • Collaboration with Avoiding Hospital Admissions HIT #BHPhitconf

  6. Challenges • Time for clinical colleagues to contribute • Those able to ‘buy out’ their time best able to contribute • Will be discussion point at a HIT strategic review meeting on 29th June. #BHPhitconf

  7. Future • Dependent on outcomes of strategic review • Supporting Bristol Public Health in their child injury health needs assessment and prevention strategy #BHPhitconf
