  6. Capstone I: Pop Art With A “Pop” of Technology The focus of this unit of study was Pop Art, culture, fairuse, efficacy of image acquisition and its implications for art. Students used Moodle to view various online resources and gain insight and knowledge about the history of Pop Art. Moodle was also used for online formal assesments. Students then learned how to create a Warhol inspired painting using Photoshop techniques. The final art pieces were photographed by students digitally and an online gallery was created.

  7. Capstone II: Let me Hear Your Art In this project based art lesson students explored the connection among the Fine Arts. Students learned about abstraction in art and explored various inspirations for art creation including emotions and music. These inspirations were used to create an original, mixed media 11x14 artwork in the abstract style of Kandinsky. Students then created a smaller 4x4 edited version for a class artwork to be displayed traditionally and digitally. United Streaming, Moodle, and classroom exercises were used to introduce students to abstract masterpieces of modern art with major emphasis having been placed on the art of Wassily Kandinsky. After creating their artworks, and the class project, presentation software was used to create a digital critique set to the music that inspired their artwork, explaining the emotions in their abstractions, and the materials used. Student's artworks were then photographed and uploaded to the internet and hosted on the District 206 Middle School Art Teachers Webpage.
