  1. To the Slopes… Learning about inclines and declines

  2. A Positive Slope goes up to the right Slopes and Y-intercepts

  3. ANEGATIVE Slope goes down to the right Slopes and Y-intercepts

  4. A ZEROSlope is horizontal Slopes and Y-intercepts

  5. An UNDEFINEDSlope is vertical Slopes and Y-intercepts

  6. Slope is the rate of change of y over x Slopes and Y-intercepts Change up or down Slope = Change right or left Or The change in Y Slope = The change in X

  7. For every 2 steps up, you go three steps right. Slopes and Y-intercepts +2 What is the change in Y? +3 What is the change in X? 2 What is the slope? 3

  8. Starting at +3 on the Y-Axis and going 2 steps down and then one step right, what is the slope? Slopes and Y-intercepts -2 What is the change in Y? +1 What is the change in X? -2 What is the slope? 1

  9. Find the Slope: Slopes and Y-intercepts Y-Axis 1 2 1 Slope = 2

  10. Find this Slope: Slopes and Y-intercepts Y-Axis -1 4 Slope = -1 4

  11. The Y-Axis Intercept is a point where the line crosses the Y-Axis Slopes and Y-intercepts Y-Axis Y-Intercept ( 0 , 2)

  12. The Y-Axis Intercept is a point where the line crosses the Y-Axis Slopes and Y-intercepts Y-Axis Y-Intercept ( 0 , -1)

  13. Find the Y- Intercept Slopes and Y-intercepts Y-Axis Y-Int= +1

  14. Find the Y- Intercept Slopes and Y-intercepts Y-Axis Y-Int = -3
