Multicast FRR • Killer ap for FRR? • Need really fast recovery • 1+1 (avoids i-frame dropping, but doubles bandwidth usage) • FRR (may not be good enough – I-frames • Severe bandwidth usage constraints • Need to minimize copies • May be able to take advantage of quasi-static group membership • Problem of loss of state on node failure • Pim joins over repair at failure time?

  4. Other issues • Opportunities of IPV6? • Are there any other possible IPFRR solutions • 100% LFA network? • ALL current solutions essentially involve forcing a packet over an unnatural path (alternate topology) by some information that give a hint of the actual failure.
