  • A platform for open, unfettered expression of views and opinions
  • Reviewed in 1986 to become an independent institution
  • Debate went on for more than 20 years
  • Secured editorial independence in 90’s

  • RTHK would remain as a Government department
  • Take up the mission as the public service broadcaster in Hong Kong
  • 3-month public consultation on how the new RTHK should operate to fulfill its mission.
