  4. THIS Matters… Hebrews 1:2 in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world.

THIS Matters… The Usurper: a fake Eph. 4:8 That is why the Scriptures say, “When he ascended to the heights, he led a crowd of captivesand gave gifts to his people.” 2 Timothy 2:26 and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will Colossians 2:8 (NASB) See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:4 for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. Eph. 2:1 “the prince of the power of the air”

  6. THIS Matters… Eph. 4:8 That is why the Scriptures say, “When he ascended to the heights, he led a crowd of captivesand gave gifts to his people.” The Door is OPEN!

  7. THIS Matters… Eph. 4:8 That is why the Scriptures say, “When he ascended to the heights, he led a crowd of captives andgave gifts to his people.” He climbed the high mountain, He captured the enemy and seized the booty, He handed it all out in gifts to the people. Ephesians 4:8

  8. THIS Matters: Gifts Acts 21:10-13 As we were staying there for some days, a prophet named Agabus came down from Judea. And coming to us, he took Paul's belt and bound his own feet and hands, and said, "This is what the Holy Spirit says: 'In this way the Jews at Jerusalem will bind the man who owns this belt and deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.' " Then Paul answered, “I am ready not only to be bound, but even to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus!" ἀπόστολος – a “sent one” 4:11 And He gave some asapostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers • “Apostles” – God’s chargers • Rare, incompatible together • Operate in the F.E.B.A. • Adventurous, restless • Hard to keep up with… • A little dense (thick-skinned)

THIS Matters: Gifts 1 Corinthians 14:24 (NASB) But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an ungifted man enters, he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all; προφήτης – an interpreter or “speaker” of God’s will Acts 11:28 (NASB) One of them named Agabus stood up and began to indicate by the Spirit that there would certainly be a great famine all over the world. 4:11 And He gave some as apostles, and some asprophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers • “Apostles” – God’s chargers • “Prophets” – God’s ‘Twitters’ • A most-powerful gift • Can ask for it: more exist • Direction, correction, insight • Seem negative? Or urgent. 1 Corinthians 14:1 (NASB) Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.

THIS Matters: Gifts 4:11 And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some aspastors and teachers • “Apostles” – God’s chargers • “Prophets” – God’s ‘Twitters’ • “Evangelists” – God’s bullhorns • “Pastors” – God’s shepherds • Optimistic, inspirational • Leading people to Christ ποιμήν – a shepherd.

  22. THIS Matters: Action BUILD “for building up the Body of Christ” (NLT 4:12) to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. Eph. 3:10 so that the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known through the church to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly places.
