  3. Bees came to America • The first bees lived in the age of the dinosaur. • Egyptians were the first bee keepers. • Bees came to the State of California in America, the year 1820

  4. Lifecycle of a bee • Egg 1-3 days • Larva 4-9 days • Pupa 10-23 days depending on the type of bee • Adult 16-24 days

  5. Types of Bees • Bees live in groups called colonies, there are 10-60 thousand bees in a hive. • Worker bee- collects water, nectar and pollen • Queen bee- lays all the eggs • Drone bee- has big strong wings and makes up 10% of the hive colony
