Conference Information • Agenda • Clergy Session: Wednesday June 19: 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. • Opening Worship Service and Holy Communion for all: Thursday at 10:00 a.m. • Opening Business Session: Thursday 11:30 a.m. • Closing Worship Service: Sunday 10:00 a.m. The full agenda and special event calendar are posted online and in the Program & Reports (P&R) book online (pages 6-8).

  6. Annual Conference Information • Annual Conference Registration • Terrace Hotel 3rd Floor • Opens Wednesday 1:00 p.m. • Ends Friday 12 noon • The full schedule is in the P&R book. • Usher Training • Usher Training - Thursday at 9:00 a.m.

  7. Conference Information • Program & Reports Book • Is online at www.wnccumc.org • You should not need to print. LET’S GO GREEN!!! • Supplement will be handed out onsite and will include all items needed for business sessions. • Maps are included in the Supplement. • Members of the Conference Only members of the conference will be allowed in Stuart Auditorium during the business sessions. Visitors can view proceedings from a number of locations.

Speakers • Dr. Elaine Heath will lead teaching sessions on Thursday afternoon, Friday afternoon, and Saturday morning. • Preachers will include: • Bishop Ken Carter, Florida Conference • Bishop Peter Weaver, retired • Bishop Hope Morgan Ward, North Carolina Conference • Rev. Dr. Sam Moore, Uwharrie District Superintendent • Bishop Larry M. Goodpaster, Western North Carolina • Shannon Sherfey, M.D. will bring the laity address.

  9. Conference Information: At the Lake • Parking and Shuttle stops will be indicated. Please plan to use Park and Ride options. Four (4) shuttles will be operating. • Dining options include: • Terrace and Lambuth Dining Rooms • Food Court: Sandwiches, Pizza, BBQ, and Chicken. • PLEASE BRING CASH in small bills. • Registration for housing at the Lake is held at the Bethea Welcome Center.

  10. Conference Information • Disciple Dialogues Thursday from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. Topics to include: • Do You Need a New Rhythm? Rediscovering the Gift of Sabbath Rest • Dreaming Dreams, Seeing Visions, and Implementing Ministry • We Send What to the Conference Office? Why? • Mission and Empowerment • What Does a Disciple Look Like?

  11. Conference Information THINGS TO NOTE • Pictorial Directory pictures will NOT be taken this year. They will be rescheduled for 2014. • Cokesbury display/bookstore will be located in the Susan Todd Lounge on the upper level of Harrell Center. • NEW Lake Junaluska Café and Bookstore will be located in the old Cokesbury store, upper level, Harrell Center.

Conference Information THINGS TO NOTE • Constitutional Amendments will be considered in plenary on Friday morning. • Only lay members and clergy members in full connection are eligible to vote on constitutional amendments • A full listing of the petitions is available on page 9 of P&R. • Petitions 1 – 3 and 18 – 20 are not on the Consent Calendar and will be considered from the floor. All other petitions have been placed on the Consent Calendar. • Please read all of the petitions before you arrive at conference in order to be prepared to vote.

  13. Offerings • Two offerings will be taken: • Opening worship on Thursday for Imagine No Malaria • Closing worship on Sunday for the Lake Junaluska Centennial Fund • Congregations are encouraged to collect funds for these offerings and bring with you to conference.

  14. Focus on Fitness • Imagine No Malaria 5K and Fun Run/Walk, sponsored by the WNCC Emory Club will be held on Thursday morning. Advance registration is available is at: wnccumc.org under Annual Conference information or athttp://bit.ly/wnccemoryclub5k

  15. Focus on Fitness • Walk Around The Lake with Bishop Goodpaster will be held on Friday and Saturday mornings at 6:30 a.m. • Lake Junaluska Fitness Center Grand Opening will be held on Friday in the Kern Center.
