  3. To fulfill realize this mandate, as the governing body, • You must determine the boundaries or limits that allow for a safe connection between your member and their client Council on Licensure, Enforcement and Regulation

  4. As example, you do this by: • Establishing your registration process • Defining your code of ethics • Developing professional standards and/or core competencies • Setting continuing competency requirements • Implementing a complaints & discipline process Council on Licensure, Enforcement and Regulation

  5. Why does your public require protection? Council on Licensure, Enforcement and Regulation

  6. Succinctly, it is due to the inherent power imbalance that exists in any professional/client relationship. Council on Licensure, Enforcement and Regulation
