  2. What’s OPAC? • Online Public Access Catalog • It’s a way of finding books and other resources in the library.

  3. Did you know? The OPAC can be accessed from any computer with internet access.

  4. How do I find the OPAC?

  5. Go to the JCPS homepage. http://www.jefferson.kyschools.us

  6. Click on Students.

  7. Roll the mouse over elementary. Move to the right menu and click on Elementary School Library Catalogs.

  8. Click on Gutermuth.

  9. The OPAC for Gutermuth Elementary.

  10. Searching the OPAC Let’s do a simple search. Click simple.

  11. Type cat in the search box and click on the key icon that says “All Words.”

  12. How many records are there for cat?

  13. 451

  14. Type cats and click on the key icon.How many records are there for cats?

  16. Type “The Bad Case of Stripes” in the search box and click on the key icon.

  17. Now, type only the word stripes.

  18. Who is the author of the book? • What is the call number? • Is the book available for check out? What if there are several pages of records?
