EnterpriseDevelopment • Create good jobs and build sustainable communities • Target growth oriented businesses • Targeted sectoral strategy: • Micro lending - $500 to $35,000 • Economic Development loans- $35,000 to $750,000 • Cultural Assets - Artisans, Community Theatres • Critical Services - Health Care, Child care • Eco-tourism and Environmental Businesses

  7. The purpose: • use high-impact strategies • strengthen the region’s small businesses and nonprofits by helping reduce energy costs and consumption • measure reductions in usage, emissions & cost savings • reduce need for coal-fired electricity generation • reduce greenhouse gas emissions

  8. What We Do We offer: • An equipment library • Calculators to determine savings available from upgrading specific equipment • Technical assistance to businesses • Mentoring of building contractors • Technical audits for completion of USDA REAP grants • Energy Efficiency Financing

  9. Forest Opportunities initiative

  10. MACED’s Managed Forest Carbon Offset program • Created to increase sustainable forest management in Kentucky and Central Appalachia. • Provides loans to cover the up-front costs of forest management. • Helps landowners add value to their forestland through new income from the sale of carbon offsets and other certified forest products. • Works closely with State Division of Forestry • Supported in part by NRCS Conservation Innovation Grant funding.
