  8. Performance Testing
  9. Performance Testing Load testing is the process of putting demand on a system or device and measuring its response (Source: Wikipedia) Current Process: Load test before HFM updates (metadata, member lists and rules) Load test before technical team changes (patches and configuration)
  10. Performance Testing
  11. Performance Testing with Accelatis Customize to your users, your servers, your scenarios, …
  12. Performance Testing with Accelatis Run tests on your time table Can easily change number of users, duration, and which process run
  13. Performance Testing Over Time We plot key tasks average times for each run. We’d like for this to be a straight line. (meaning no performance degradation)
  14. Performance Testing - Future
  15. Performance Testing - Demo
  16. Consolidation Performance
  17. Consolidation Performance During development, a consultant took our key consolidation from 14 hours to 2 hours (120 minutes) (That was one year / main company hierarchy) Thought that was the best possible so didn’t review further Over time we gradually grew to 138 minutes Thought we’d check out the rules profiler to see what we could learn… …and pulled our head out of the sand
  18. Consolidation Performance Approach Leverage Accelatis HFM Rules Profiler
  19. Consolidation Performance A Simple review showed that these were not limited for the value dimension… very easy change. Took about 30 minutes to isolate issue and about 1 week to implement change. 60% of my consolidation time was in 2 routines
  20. Consolidation Performance This cumulates for each rollup and each year. At year end, our goal is to finish our historical calculations a day early! We are now at 87 minutes! About 40% faster!
  21. Next Steps Previously mentioned items Include server tasks for load testing Performance testing after reboots World-wide comparisons Use for server audits Use for monitoring and alerts
