What is it? • Involves the transfer of genetic material from one organism to another. • Results in the formation of Recombinant DNA. • Human genes that control the synthesis of insulin and growth hormone have been inserted into bacteria. • Bacterial cells are then able to synthesize (make) certain substance needed by humans!
