  4. Enter info for DDS code

  5. 1 Opt, fill in a name for record

  6. Press Enter

  7. Work Screen Appears

  8. Tips for using the workscreen • Use your scroll keys to move the cursor, not enter or backspace • If you need to change something, use the arrow keys to place the cursor where the correction needs to be made and type over or space bar over. Do not use delete. • Once a change is made and is satisfactory, be sure to press enter before doing an F3 or your work will not be saved.

  9. Add the screen headings

  10. F14 will show the row/column lines

  11. Type the prompt for the user

  12. Press F10 to enter file info, 1 will list the database fields

  13. Place the option(s) needed for the field(s), press enter

  14. Back to this screen, press enter

  15. Type &1 on the screen in the location for the field and press Enter….

  16. Tips regarding characters on fields: • 3 means it is numeric input only • 6 means it is numeric output only • 9 means it is numeric, both input & output • I means it is character, input only • O means it is character, output only • B means it is character, both input and output

  17. F14 to remove ruler

  18. F20 to highlight constants

  19. Tips regarding attributes • The space immediately preceding the field(s) is called the attribute field. • F20 reverse highlights the screen field, including any preceding blank spaces.

  21. Choose attributes from list

  22. Y, Y, Press Enter

  23. Select display attributes

  24. Indicators may be used also

  25. Select color for field

  26. Back to this screen, Enter

  27. Back to this screen….

  28. F20 to remove highlighting

  29. Moving a field: Use < or > then press enter

  30. It has been moved 3 spaces

  31. Move to the previous line

  32. After pressing enter.

  33. Move the field to the left:

  34. After pressing enter.

  35. Other tips • Use == instead of = to copy rather than move • Attribute field code area immediately precedes the field

  36. Press F3, then 1, Enter

  37. Back to this screen….

  38. Second Record Format

  39. Enter

  40. Enter info and press F10

  41. Choose 1 and key in file info

  42. Choose fields for I, O, B

  43. All will be for Output in this case

  44. Back to this screen…. Enter

  45. Position Fields on Screen using & followed by the field number

  46. After pressing enter….

  47. Adjust attributes

  48. High Intensity Y, enter

  49. Add Color, Enter
