  4. State Authorization • Hot off the press! Lumina has funded WICHE to stand up the SARA process. Press release sent to ELC this morning. • SBCTC and WSAC will host an informational webinar late August/early September to update Washington institutions on SARA Other news: • A bill introduced in the US House vacates any federal requirements for state authorization. Nobody expects this bill to become law, and even if it does, the state regulations themselves will not be affected. They are state laws, not federal. • Remember: All colleges are required to provide information to ALL students on the complaint process in their home state. Project I-DEA • 3 year grant from Gates to use flipped model for lower level ESL • Students work 50% online; colleges supply devices and connectivity • 10 pilot colleges this year • Big Bend, IEL, Lake Washington, North Seattle, Pierce St. Steilacoom, Renton Technical, Seattle Central, Shoreline, Tacoma , Walla Walla • Add 10 next year, add 14 final year
