  3. Technology Tools To Use in the Classroom • Websites and stations • Publisher, Powerpoint, Excel, Photostory, Webquests • Blogs, Wikis, Gaggle, Podcasts, GPS • SchoolPad and Netbooks

  4. Websites & Stations thefamilypcpro.com/html/kids_services.html • Websites can be used to collect information or to practice concepts. Websites for a project should be housed on your class webpage. • Stations can be set up during reading, math, or writing rotations. Ex. Cybermath

  5. Publisher, Powerpoint, Excel, Photostory, Webquests • Kids and teachers use these tools to share information within classroom • Publisher—posters, brochures, postcards, book jackets, calendars • Powerpoint/ Photostory—delivering instruction, biographies, places • Excel—charts, graphs, data, survey

  6. Blogs, Wikis, Gaggle, Podcasts, GPS • Kids and teachers can participate in these beyond classroom • Blogs— online journals, commentaries, contain text and images • Wikis— can edit or add to information on pages, links, text, private or public • Gaggle— student email, blogs, digital lockers • Podcasts— audio or video files that can broadcast information through playback, episodes downloaded automatically • GPS—find caches and integrate into a learning activity

  7. SchoolPad and Netbooks • SchoolPad is used in place of overhead projector.
