  1. Transfer Learning Segment Introduction to Java Programming Concepts Online Pre-Training Class Designed byStephen Osborne

  2. Course Description: This is an on-line pre-training course that has been designed for students who want to take java programming 106. Its purpose is to teach a basic introduction of programming concepts that will result in helping students find solutions that are appropriate for implementation within the programming language environment. The reason this learning segment has been introduced is due to students that have been taking java programming C100 at Osborne University find that the class material is somewhat confusing. This ultimately ends in late submission of assignments and failing grades.

  3. Course Description Cont’d: Upon completion of the training class students will be tested and accesses before being allowed to attend c100. In terms of transfer of learning, a good analogy of why this class is important to take would be the equivalent of learning the alphabet in order to learn how to spell.

  4. Course Learning Outcomes: • Understanding how to download NetBeans • Understanding how to use NetBeans • Learning and using java terminology • Running Simple Programs • Student will design, code, test, and run a Java program

  5. Pre-Training Class Length is Four Weeks • 1st week downloading and understanding Netbeans • 2nd week understanding java terms • 3rd week writing small programs • 4th week exam
