  2. THE SUFFICIENCY OF THE CHURCH A. The church is “pitched” by God, not man (Heb. 8:1-5). 1. God is the designer (Eph. 3:9-11). 2. Christ the builder (Mt. 16:18). B. Foretold (Is. 2:2-5; Dan. 2:44). I. THE CHURCH IS A DIVINE PLAN PERFORMED C. Prepared for (Is. 40:3-5; Mt. 3:1-3). D. Promised by Christ (Mt.16:18; Mk. 9:1). E. Accomplished (Acts 2:47; 5:11; 11:26; Col. 1:13; etc.).

  3. THE SUFFICIENCY OF THE CHURCH A. Thus, to deny the sufficiency of the church, is to deny the wisdom of God (1 Cor. 1:20-31; Rom. 11:33-36). B. In order for man to improve upon this arrangement, man would have to be wiser than God (Jer. 10:23; Mt. 15:13f; Gal. 1:6-8; Rom. 9:20). II. GOD’S WISDOM DESIGNED THE CHURCH

  4. THE SUFFICIENCY OF THE CHURCH A. All Truth (John 14:26; 16:13). B. All Things (2 Pet. 1:3). C. God’s righteousness (Rom. 1:16-17). D. Thorough & Complete Equipping (2 Tim. 3:16-17). III. THE HOLY SPIRIT REVEALED THE CHURCH E. Man can only know by revelation (1 Cor. 2:10-12). F. God’s way is revealed (Mt. 28:20). G. Not go beyond what is written (1 Cor. 4:6; 2 Thess. 3:6-15). H. A complete revelation / blueprint.

  5. THE SUFFICIENCY OF THE CHURCH A. Head over all things (Eph. 1:22-23). B. Normal bodily function is subject to the directions of the head (Rom. 12:3-6). C. Each member is to perform his function by faith (2 Cor. 5:7; Heb. 11:7). IV. THE CHURCH IS DIRECTED BY CHRIST D. The church is “in the Spirit” (relationship) as long as the church is subject to His directions (Eph. 2:18). E. God is glorified the same way (Eph. 3:21). F. The church is not a democracy – it is a kingdom (Col. 1:13; Jas. 4:12).

  6. THE SUFFICIENCY OF THE CHURCH A. Because His wisdom is infinite (Dan. 2:20-22). B. Because He sees the end from the beginning (Is. 46:10). C. Because He is perfectly guided by His love for man & His justice against sin (Rom. 11:22; Jas. 1:17-18). V. GOD’S WAY IS NOT JUST SUFFICIENT;BUT BEST (Pr. 16:25; Is. 55:8-9)! D. Because it honors God & develops our trust in Him (Heb. 2:10-13). E. Because it serves His purpose (Eph. 1:11).

  7. THE SUFFICIENCY OF THE CHURCH A. The church is sufficient to accomplish what God intends it to accomplish. B. NO other organization or arrangement is permitted or needed. C. Any effort to improve upon God’s way represents dissatisfaction with & unbelief of God’s way. CONCLUSION: D. Any deviation means we have turned away from God’s way, to man’s ways. DO YOU HAVE FAITH IN GOD?
