  3. I must have dreamed a thousand dreamsBeen haunted by a million screamsBut I can hear the marching feetThey're moving into the streetNow, did you read the news today? They say the danger has gone awayBut I can see the fire's still alightThey're burning into the nightThere's too many men, too many peopleMaking too many problemsAnd there's not much love to go aroundCan't you see this is a land of confusion? This is the world we live inAnd these are the hands we're givenUse them and let's start tryingTo make it a place worth living inOh, superman, where are you now? When everything's gone wrong somehow? The men of steel, these men of powerAre losing control by the hourThis is the time, this is the placeSo we look for the futureBut there's not much love to go aroundTell me why this is a land of confusionThis is the world we live inAnd these are the hands we're givenUse them and let's start tryingTo make it a place worth living inI remember long agoWhen the sun was shiningAnd all the stars were bright all through the nightIn the wake of this madness, as I held you tightSo long agoI won't be coming home tonightMy generation will put it rightWe're not just making promisesThat we know we'll never keepThere's too many men, too many peopleMaking too many problemsAnd there's not much love to go roundCan't you see this is a land of confusion? Now, this is the world we live inAnd these are the hands we're givenUse them and let's start tryingTo make it a place worth fighting forThis is the world we live inAnd these are the names we're givenStand up and let's start showingJust where our lives are going to I think the song is about how the government abuses their power. I chose this song because, I feel in some parts of the song it refers to fighting back against the government. When I here this song, I feel that we should limit the power of the government. Land of Confusion(Disturbed)

  4. It's not like I'm walking alone into the valley of the shadow of deathStand beside one another, 'cause it ain't over yetI'd be willing to bet that if we don't back downYou and I will be the ones that are holding the Crown in the endWhen it's over, we can say, "Well done"But not yet, 'cause it's only begunSo, pick up, and follow me, we're the only ones To fight this thing, until we've wonWe drive on and don't look backIt doesn't mean we can't learn from our pastAll the things that we mighta done wrongWe could've been doing this all alongEverybody, with your fists raised highLet me hear your battle cry tonightStand beside, or step asideWe're on the frontlineAnd we'll be carrying on, until the day it doesn't matter anymoreStep aside, you forgot what this is forWe fight to live, we live to fightAnd tonight, you'll hear my battle cryWe live our lives on the frontlinesWe're not afraid of the fast timesThese days have opened up my eyesAnd now, I see where the threat liesWe've got to lead the way I think this song is about the unnecessary wars that we have had. I chose this song because, when I heard it I thought of the war in Iraq. When I hear this song I feel we are losing too many people for unnecessary things. Frontline(Pillar)

  5. Look at all these people lying around look at all these people being scrapedRight off the ground because of too many broken homes too many cardboard box-Es too many people who just can't survive hare losses well americans don'tBelong in tins let's learn to help ourselves before we help the foreign wound-Ed decay shout out dismay can you hear ther voices yelling out mayday why areWe sending money overseas look out your window our nation's the one that needsBecause there's not enough income there's too much poverty why must we loseMore lives before our eyes will see we'll leave it alone hope it goes awayIt's hard to ignore life when you live it everyday I'd like to see I'd likeTo say I'd like to hear that help is on the way here today where tomorrow?Death in the shadows affect us all too many bodies lie in the street too manyHungry mouths that have the right to feed I think this song is about how we neglect are own citizens and pay more attention to foreign affairs. I chose this song because, in the 4th stanza it talks about us taking care of other countries instead of ourselves. When I hear this song I feel that our nation is crumbling from the lack of acknowledgement toward ourselves. Homeless(Pennywise)

  6. "What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach...So, you get what we had here last week, which is the way he wants it!Well, he gets it!N' I don't like it any more than you men." *Look at your young men fightingLook at your women cryingLook at your young men dyingThe way they've always done beforeLook at the hate we're breedingLook at the fear we're feedingLook at the lives we're leadingThe way we've always done beforeMy hands are tiedThe billions shift from side to sideAnd the wars go on with brainwashed prideFor the love of God and our human rightsAnd all these things are swept asideBy bloody hands time can't denyAnd are washed away by your genocideAnd history hides the lies of our civil warsD'you wear a black armbandWhen they shot the manWho said "Peace could last forever"And in my first memoriesThey shot KennedyI went numb when I learned to seeSo I never fell for VietnamWe got the wall of D.C. to remind us allThat you can't trust freedomWhen it's not in your handsWhen everybody's fightin'For their promised landAndI don't need your civil warIt feeds the rich while it buries the poorYour power hungry sellin' soldiersIn a human grocery storeAin't that freshI don't need your civil warLook at the shoes your fillingLook at the blood we're spillingLook at the world we're killingThe way we've always done beforeLook in the doubt we've wallowedLook at the leaders we've followedLook at the lies we've swallowedAnd I don't want to hear no moreMy hands are tiedFor all I've seen has changed my mindBut still the wars go on as the years go byWith no love of God or human rights'Cause all these dreams are swept asideBy bloody hands of the hypnotizedWho carry the cross of homicideAnd history bears the scars of our civil wars"We practice selective annihilation of mayorsAnd government officialsFor example to create a vacuumThen we fill that vacuumAs popular war advancesPeace is closer" **I don't need your civil warIt feeds the rich while it buries the poorYour power hungry sellin' soldiersIn a human grocery storeAin't that freshAnd I don't need your civil warI don't need your civil warI don't need your civil warYour power hungry sellin' soldiersIn a human grocery storeAin't that freshI don't need your civil warI don't need one more warI don't need one more warWhaz so civil 'bout war anyway I think this song is about how only the poor and helpless go to war and the rich stay home carrying on with their lives. I chose this song because, I felt it touched a good amount on the wars we’ve had. When I hear this song I feel no matter how rich or poor you are you should serve you country if you are of age. Civil War(Guns N’ Roses)

I chose this song because, I felt it reflected on the goal for that decade in time. When I hear this song I feel that we could live in a world filled with peace if political leaders listened to their people. Imagine (John Lennon)

I chose this song because I felt it touched the truth, that even if you speak your mind you still have to deal with consequences. When I hear this song I feel like everyone is afraid to stand against the government for fear of being ridiculed. Hate and War(The Clash)

  11. Ev'rybody's talking aboutBagism, Shagism, Dragism, Madism, Ragism, TagismThis-ism, that-ism, is-m, is-m, is-m.All we are saying is give peace a chanceAll we are saying is give peace a chanceC'monEv'rybody's talking about Ministers,Sinisters, Banisters and canistersBishops and Fishops and Rabbis and Pop eyes,And bye bye, bye byes. All we are saying is give peace a chance I think this song is about choosing an alternative to war. 12. The eastern world, it is exploding/ Violence flarin’, bullets loadin’/ You’re old enough to kill, but not for votin’/ You don’t believe in war, but what’s that gun you’re totin’/ And even the Jordan River has bodies floatin’/ But you tell me/ Over and over and over again, my friend/ Ah, you don’t believe We’re on the eve/ of destruction./ Don’t you understand what I’m tryin’ to say/ Can’t you feel the fears I’m feelin’ today?/ If the button is pushed, there’s no runnin’ away/ There’ll be no one to save, with the world in a grave/ [Take a look around ya boy, it's bound to scare ya boy]/ And you tell me/ Over and over and over again, my friend/ Ah, you don’t believe We’re on the eve/ of destruction. /Yeah, my blood’s so mad feels like coagulatin’/ I’m sitting here just contemplatin’/ I can’t twist the truth, it knows no regulation/. Handful of senators don’t pass legislation /And marches alone can’t bring integration/ When human respect is disintegratin’/ This whole crazy world is just too frustratin’/ And you tell me/ Over and over and over again, my friend/ Ah, you don’t believe We’re on the eve/ of destruction. /Think of all the hate there is in Red China /Then take a look around to Selma, Alabama /You may leave here for 4 days in space/ But when you return, it’s the same old place /The poundin’ of the drums, the pride and disgrace /You can bury your dead, but don’t leave a trace/ Hate your next-door neighbor, but don’t forget to say grace/ And… tell me over and over and over and over again, my friend/ You don’t believe/ We’re on the eve/ Of destruction/ Mm, no no, you don’t believe/ We’re on the eve/ of destruction. I think this song is about how no matter what happens, war or peace, the world will always be the same. I chose this song because, I felt it spoke the truth about how the world operates. When I hear this song I feel the world may never have peace but instead just war. Eve of Destruction(Barry McGuire)
