Suhu

Penting karena :

  • Laju reaksi biologi dan kimia dipengaruhi suhu

  • Organisme air – mikroba s/d ikan – perlu suhu optimal agar bertahan hidup



Turbidity kekeruhan

  • Merupakan ukuran kejernihan air

  • Berapa banyak material tersuspensi dalam air – yang mengurangi kemampuan air meneruskan cahaya

  • Material tersuspensi (berukuran 0.004 mm -1.0 mm)

    • misalnya: clay, silt, and sand, algae, plankton, microbes, dll.

  • Turbidity dapat mempengaruhi warna air.

  • Mengurangi efektifitas proses desinfeksi pada air minum – biaya bahan kimia.

  • meningkatkan suhu air karena partikel tersuspensi dapat menyerap panas.

  • Peralatan disebut nephelometer atau turbidimeter (mengukur intensitas cahaya yang disebarkan pada 90 derajat dari cahaya yang melalui sampel air).



In a nephelometer, light reflects off turbidity particles in the water and is measured by a photomultiplier tube.

The amount of light reaching the photomultiplier tube is proportional to the amount of turbidity in the sample water.

  • Turbidity dapat digunakan sebagai pendekatan knsentrasi TSS (Total Suspended Solids).

  • Konduktivitas air dipengaruhi adanya zat anorganik terlarut seperti : chloride, nitrate, sulfate,phosphate - anions (bermuatan negatif) atau sodium, magnesium, calcium, iron, aluminum – kation
