  • Eastern Lowlands – flat plain - piedmont: rolling hills, rivers/streams

  • Appalachian Highland: mountain chain- more than 4 million years old so eroded (few high peaks – 2400ft)- Appalachian Trail: 2,160 miles of hiking trail

- Continental Divide: highest point of Rockies – separates river flow between East and West - Mt. McKinley: Highest Mountain in North America (20,320 feet)
