Why I Created My Own Dog Training Business - Canine Why I Created My Own Dog Training Business - Canine … … Delen Delen My journey really began when I rescued my German Shepherd, Lush back in 2015. He was 6kg at 6 months old and severely malnourished and mistreated. After rehabbing him back to good health, I soon learnt love and a?ection was a small piece of the puzzle when it comes to owning a dog. Bekijken op Whilst I've Always Loved Dogs, it was my own who sparked my passion for dog training... While I’ve always held a great love for people and dogs, it was my own that sparked my passion for dog training. Back in 2015 I got a very late call from my boss, who assisted at a dog rescue at that time. There was an emergency situation and she asked if I could foster a 6-month-old German Shepherd puppy – one of six who were found abandoned and extremely malnourished. Sadly, one of the pups didn’t make it. I immediately said yes and took in this little boy who was half the size he should have been at 6-months-old. We named him “Helushka”, meaning fighter in Native American, which we soon shortened to Lush. This was the first dog I owned on my own and I had no clue of the behavioural issues that were to come. Lush’s extreme fear made it impossible for me to take him out of the house or invite anyone over. He would bark, lunge, defecate and even in some cases bite whoever came near him. The love I had for this dog was immense, but there were so many days when I thought – “I can’t do this”. But, no matter how close I came, I didn’t give up. ? M ? M t t
