  3. What is a team? • Phoenix, Fusion and Synergy • Have all classes with your team • Eat lunch with your team, and an eighth grade team • Locker centered around your team corner

  4. Expectations • Be in Homerooms by 8:05 • Get to classes on time • Do ALL homework • Stay organized (binders and lockers)

  5. Lockers • Unless in science hallway, it is near all your classes(but science) • Right, left, right combination • You also get a much smaller gym locker • Girls all get their own, and can keep clothes there all the time • Boys must share gym lockers & take clothes home 5

  6. R/A Periods • 8:15-8:45 • Band, clubs, chorus • Need a pass to get places • You can stay in homeroom • Best time to make up missed work • Computer lab and library are open

  7. Academics • Social Studies, English, Science, Reading, and Math • These classes give the most homework • You Have each one everyday • Rotate double periods • Around 45 min each single period

  8. Arts Classes • Takes place on “A” days • Music & Careers, Art, Technology, Family and Consumer Sciences, and Computers • Rotate every six weeks • Not much (if any) homework • Single and double periods

  9. Gym and Health • Takes place on “B” days • Examples of gym units: net games, target games, dance • Examples of health units: circulatory system, nervous system, respiratory system • 3 health teachers, 3 gym teachers, and you will be assigned to one of each

  10. Sports Teams • You must try out for all of them except track • Receive a uniform • Play games with schools in CR district and Central Bucks • Many choices: soccer, softball, baseball, field hockey, etc.

  11. Core Block • On days when you have arts or gym/health last • One period long • You participate in activities with your team • Movies, sports, walks, study hall, etc.

  12. Clinic • Thursdays 3-4 pm • You can take the late bus home • Time to catch up on projects • You can work with your teachers • Library is open

  15. Newtown Middle School is a great place to learn. Although there is more work and more responsibilities to take care of, you are granted much more freedom. With all the new activities you can take part in, being bored is not an option. Good luck to you here, but I know you will all have a great year! 15
