Bras for a Cause Results! • We raised almost $1000! • GREAT job Caitlin!!! • We are already talking about ways to make next year even bigger and better. • Congrats to Brandon Yu, representing Key Club for being the winner of the Titan Choice Award! • Thank you to everyone who made a bra: Alyssa Garcia, Tricia Tran, AlyssahInsua & KasyIhedoro

  5. Fundraising • Just a reminder if you haven’t turned in your book money, you are still on the debt list ! 

  6. Leadership Workshops • What: These workshops are mandatory for any member whodoesn’t complete the 50 required hours – plan on attending just in case!!!! • When: Saturday, Nov. 9 • 9am - noon • Where: TBT • PLEASE SIGN UP ON THE PAPER BEING PASSED AROUND SO WE KNOW HOW MANY TO EXPECT

  7. Trot Thru the Terrace – November 16 • Community Event • Beta will be helping with registration and at the water stations. • When: Nov 16 at 7:00am (UNTIL AROUND 11AM) • Where: 405 S. Riverhills Dr. (Temple Terrace) THERE IS AN EVENTBRITE SIGN UP FOR THIS! IF YOU SHOW UP AT 6AM TO HELP WITH SET UP, YOU GET DOUBLE HOURS FOR THE WHOLE EVENT!

  8. Strides For Education • When : November 23, 7:00-11:30am. • Where : Tampa Bay Times Forum Plaza • What :  5K WALK/RUN to raise scholarship funds for Middle & High Schools within Hillsborough County Public Schools. • We will be cheerleaders just like we did at Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. • An EventBrite went out on this. 

  9. Santa’s Workshop • What :Where we volunteer to help assist with the camp, and the campers. The camp is an overnight camp for children touched by all types of cancer and blood disorders. • When : December 6th-8th • Where : Brandon,FL • Check you email for details on how to sign up.

  10. Gift Collection! • What : This is where we use the collected gifts for Santa’s Workshop. The children cancer patients/survivors, use the Faces of Courage "money" to buy holiday gifts for their family members, pets - even doctors and nurses. • *We collect all new items, this is a great way to re-gift any of your presents! • When : November 22nd all gifts should be brought in. • Where : Mrs. H.

  11. Winter Wonderland • What : It’s an enchanting musical night, of holiday spirit. With reindeer, rides, lights, and musical joy. • Where : Lowry Park Zoo • When : December 14th and 22nd • An EventBrite will go out next week. • You must have a volunteer Form on file at Lowry Park – If you turned one in for Zoo Boo, you do not need to have another one.

  12. Beta State Convention – January 17-19, 2014 • One of our ultimate goals this year is to get as many students as possible to attend the Beta State Convention • The convention will happen in Orlando in the beautiful Florida Hotel! • We would like if we have more of our BETA members to attend Convention.

  13. CONVENTION COMPETITIONS • State Officer • Academic Competitions: (one member for each competition) • English • Math • Science • Social Studies • Oratorical • Spelling • Creative Writing • Spanish • Quiz Bowl (4 members) • Senior Scholarship (any senior attending convention may compete)

Artistic Competitions: Photography (color & black/white; still & action; digitally enhanced) On site art (acrylics, pen/ink) Acrylic Art Computer Graphics Sketching (black/white & color) Watercolors Wreath-Making Mixed Media Stitchery Woodworking Ceramics Special Talent – 4 or fewer students Group Talent – 5 or more students Banner

  15. TODAY! Deadline to sign up for a competition November 14 Mandatory Parent Meeting for anyone attending convention - 6:30pm - TBT Cafeteria Nov. 18 Deadline to pay for convention January 17 Depart for convention at noon January 19 Return to TBT approx. 2pm Costs: $150 per member - includes registration, hotel and transportation. Must bring money for food - food court in the mall!

  16. Help raise money for Relay for Life!! Tampa Bay Technical High School Food Truck Rally! Thursday, December 12, 2013 3:30-7:30pm THIS IS CONFERENCE NIGHT!

  17. Relay for Life - • Probably the single biggest Beta Event of the year! • When: April 11-12, 2014 • Where: Greco Middle School • We fundraise ALL YEAR for this cause! • Sign up now to be on our team! • www.relayforlife.org/templeterracefl • Our team name is TBTBeta

  19. See Mrs. H. if…… You live near Buckhorn Elementary School – or you are willing to help judge the Tropicana Speech Contest at Buckhorn on Dec. 5 & 6 (miss periods 1-4)

  20. Next meeting is Dec. 4 during 2nd period. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - December 6 is CLUB PICTURE DAY! Wear your Beta Shirt to be in the picture - there are some size medium and large shirts still available. See Mrs. H. to get one
