  2. Assignment #1Log onto your computer using your own personalized student account Instructions:#1) User Name= Your Student ID # #2) Password=Listed on the sheet Mr. Gavin provided you with #3) Domain= SCHOOLS

Assignment #2Change your Password Instructions (after you have logged into your machine):#1) Hold Down Ctrl- Alt- Delete(Microsoft Salute) #2) Select Change Password(Bottom Left) #3) Old Password= On sheet Mr. Gavin provided you with #4) In the NEW PASSWORD field change your password to something you will not forget HINT: Your password is Cap sensitive #5) Re-type your NEW PASSWORD in the CONFIRM Password Field

  6. Instructions #1) Login to your computer #2) Follow the Directions on the File Management Worksheet #3) Let Mr. Gavin know when you have completed the assignment #4) HELP!!!

File Management All files are to be saved on the server • By doing so you will be able to have access to them on any computer that is networked in the building. • Example: You can work on a paper in Ms. Jones room and if you saved it correctly you can pick right up where you left off and open it up in the library or computer lab. • Your files will also be safe from harm • For example: If the computer crashes and needs to be replaced it will not matter because it is on the server. Also, nobody will be able to erase them unless they have your password • This is where Mr. Gavin will assess your work • For Example: I will make corrections and suggestions directly on your file. If your work is not saved on the server you will not receive credit for your hard work • Saving on your desktop will slow your computer down How do I do all of this?

  8. Saving Files on Harbor- FP(Desktop PC) 1) Select <File> 2) Select <Save As…> Rename your file so you can find it easy 3) Click the <Arrow> (next to the word save in) 4) Select <My Computer> 5) Double Click on your <Student ID#> 6) Select the corresponding folder 7) Click <SAVE>
