Indicative Timelines • Clinical Services Plan completed November 2011 • Concept Brief completed December 2011 • Functional Brief completed March 2012 • Early Works completed in June 2012 • Expression of Interest Tender July 2012 • Second Stage Tender November 2012 • Construction to commence in March 2013 • Operational Commissioning by March 2016

  4. Consultation • With clinicians, other service providers, service users • Identified the following: • Focus on physical environment consistent with tropical lifestyle • Outside access for staff and patients • RDH as a hub and spoke with Palmerston Hospital

  5. Configuration of Services • Emergency Department with 10 bays plus 8 Paediatric Short Stay Unit beds • 60 inpatient beds across two wards including general, surgical and maternity • 2 Birthing Suites • 2 Operating theatres and a procedure room • Outpatient clinics • 24/7 medical imaging • Pharmacy and Pathology

  6. Service delivery approach • Palmerston Hospital will locally manage demand for some services. • High intensity services with low numbers of presentations will not be duplicated (eg ICU). • Palmerston Hospital will provide a key pathway for these services where there is a presentation at Palmerston.

  7. Concept Master Development Plan • Proposed layout sees the main entry to the Hospital oriented to Cook Street. • Emergency Services access via Cook Street off Temple Terrace. • Access via Gurd St off Roystonea Avenue • Detailed analysis required to consider traffic management, controls and road alignments.
