ISO/TC215 Meeting • The last plenary meeting was held between August 26 and 29 in London, UK. • Charles Parisot and Hidenori Shinoda attended the meeting as liaison of DICOM. • They resolved; • TC215 recommended DICOM would accept the proposal of attaining ISO status. • DICOM/WG10 and TC215/WG2 would have a joint meeting in January, 2002.

ISO/TC215 ResolutionRelated to DICOM • RESOLUTION 5 • Resolved that ISO/TC 215 received the report of the ISO/TC 215 Task Force DICOM. • RESOLUTION 7 • Resolved that ISO/TC215 welcome receipt of one or more work item proposals that address the issue of safe and secure use of appropriate ISO imaging standards in healthcare, and be it further • Resolved that such work items be forwarded to ISO/TC 215 WG2 for consideration with major stakeholders, including DICOM WG10.

ISO/TC215 ResolutionRelated to DICOM-cont’d • RESOLUTION 8 • Resolved that a joint meeting be authorized between DICOM WG10 and ISO/TC 215 WG2 and other interested ISO/TC 215 members to further explore working relationships and other matters of interest. The meeting would be held in San Diego in January 2002 in conjunction with the ISO/TC 215 WG2 meeting.

  5. ISO/TC215 ResolutionRelated to DICOM-cont’d • RESOLUTION 15 • Resolved that ISO/TC 215 encourage DICOM to consider establishing a relationship with ISO/TC 215 using a process similar to the IEEE Pilot Projectand what HL7 is proposing to ISO.

Joint meeting • DICOM would start the pilot project of getting ISO status and TC215 would give DICOM information regarding the procedure. • DICOM would proceed to develop a standard for referring images through URL/URI. • DICOM/WG10 and TC215/WG2 would have a joint meeting in January, 2003 in San Antonio. • DICOM would report the progress of the activities at the joint meeting

  7. Meeting in Pretoria • Joel Chabriais attended the meeting. • He reported yesterday that TC215/WG2 had recommended DICOM to propose a new work item for referring images from EHR.
