Project Description Purpose • To assist the City of San Marcos in identifying suitable sites for new fire stations • Location of Central Fire Station has already been determined • Location of another fire station near Municipal Airport has also been determined • Goal is to analyze the locations of the existing fire stations to assess accessibility and response time Scope • Includes San Marcos City Limits and Extraterritorial Jurisdiction • Parts of Comal, Caldwell, and Guadalupe Counties

Time Periods Work Accomplished • Website has been posted and updated • All relevant project documents will be added as more of the project is completed • Data collection has been completed • Web Address: geosites.evans.txstate.edu/~g4427f06-01 Work In Progress • Editing of Metadata for each file • Creating Network Dataset for street centerline file • Creating 1.5 mile service area of existing & proposed fire stations • There have been minor issues with editing the Metadata and with topology errors in the Network Work Planned • Solve any minor issues with Network • Complete the Metadata for every file • Manage the website • Perform necessary analysis

Conclusion • Fadden is on schedule and is making progress every week • Has completed data collection and is almost complete with data processing • Fadden guarantees that the project will be completed by December 8, 2006 • Fadden is making sure to keep good communication with the City of San Marcos to ensure the project is satisfactory
