  1. Grammar Practice Using compound sentences in your own writing.

  2. Part 1: Describe your favorite celebrity, athlete, writer, artist, etc.. • Briefly describe what they do, or why they are famous. • Explain why you think they are the best at what they do. • Be persuasive! Use logos and pathos in your argument. • Write at least on paragraph. Due in 10 minutes.

  3. Part 2: HOMEWORK-Revise you paragraph by combining sentences to create variety in your writing. • Create compound sentences using FANBOYS and a comma. • Example: • Pharrell Williams is good at sampling classic beats. He can also create catchy new beats. • Pharrell Williams is good at sampling , but he can also create catchy new beats.

  4. Combine sentences by writing items in a series. Make sure to use commas correctly. • Example In order to print a document from the internet you need to download it. Save it as well. Open it in Word too. In order to print a document from internet you need to download it, save it, and open it in Word.

  5. Rewrite the whole paragraph as you revise. • Due tomorrow at the beginning of class.
