  2. Louis Braille • Louis Braille was the inventor of Braille, a way to let blind people read by using small round bumps on paper.

  3. About Braille • Louis Braille was born in 1809. • He was born in France in a town called Coupvray, located east of Paris. He had 3 elder siblings.

  4. As a Kid • As soon as Braille could walk he was mostly playing in his Dads work shop. • At the age of three Louis Braille became blind after an accident in his fathers workshop, while using his fathers tools.

  5. Louis’ Way • When Louis was 10 he went to the National Institute for Blind Children. • When he was only 15 he had created his first dot alphabet. • Eight years later he had added symbols for music and math.

  6. Braille • After two centuries Braille still remains something blind people use to learn and communicate • For example, the letter A is one big dot and five small dots • The letter B is two big dots on the side and four small dots

  7. Louis Passes Away • Louis died in 1852 in France. • If it wasn’t for Louis Braille and his invention blind people could not have a good education because they wouldn't be able to read.
