  2. For use in IRLS571, Summer 2008 only Blogging A blog can be a fun and useful tool for your library staff. Most ILS systems have the functionality to add URLs to favorite sites.

  3. For use in IRLS571, Summer 2008 only Blogging To add the blog, you first need to open the page and copy the URL to your clipboard.

  4. For use in IRLS571, Summer 2008 only Blogging Copy it into the “Favorites” option in your ILS system and your staff now has access to a work-related blog!

  5. For use in IRLS571, Summer 2008 only Blogging Use a site such as Blogger or Bloglines to create the blog. Add exciting collection information, exhibit dates, new collection details, or a newsworthy event to your blog.

  6. For use in IRLS571, Summer 2008 only Blogging Add access to your library’s blog to your OPAC.

  7. For use in IRLS571, Summer 2008 only Blogging Remember to keep your blog updated. Services such as Bloglines have options to allow stories from other feeds and blogs to be clipped for your blog (see “Blog This”).

  8. For use in IRLS571, Summer 2008 only Blogging Blogs create an interactive media-based environment to inform your staff and strengthen your the relationship with your patron community. Blogs can help your library staff stay on top of industry news and a blog can also create interaction between your library and the community it serves. We suggest you give it a try!
