COUNSELING STAFF COUNSELORS: • Mrs. Shireman – 7th Grade • Mrs. Koenig – 8th Grade • Mrs. Hashimoto – Administrative Assistant • The Counseling Staff is here to help you choose your classes, and to give you someone to talk to about personal or school issues. • We want you to enjoy your Central Middle School experience, to study hard and to focus on completing your classes. • Counseling Office Hours 7:40 AM – 3:15 PM

Important Dates: • February 17 (Monday) 6:30-8:15 CSA and AC presentations at Central • Open House April 10 (At Central) • May 13 (Tuesday) At Central • AM Orientation for Lincoln, Parkside, Richards • PM Orientation for Schmitt, Fodrea, ABC May 14 (Wednesday) At Central • AM Orientation for Southside and Taylorsville • PM Orientation for Rockcreek, Clifty, Smith, and Mt. Healthy • Schedule Pick up: July 30 (Wed) 12-6 PM • First Day of classes: August 4 (Monday)

Agenda/ Handbook • Student Agendas will be passed out within the first 2 weeks of school. • The Student Agenda will provide useful information regarding: • Homework Policies (Subject specific) • Progress Reports/ Report Cards (4 ½ weeks/ 9 weeks) • Eligibility Policy (No F’s to participate in extra curricular activities.) • Medication/ Medical Policy • Dress code • Rules

  13. DRESS CODE • SHIRTS MAY NOT EXPOSE CLEAVAGE OR MIDRIFFS AND MUST HAVE A SLEEVE – NO TANK TOPS • HATS ARE NOT ALLOWED INDOORS • SH0RTS OR SKIRTS MUST COME CLOSE TO THE KNEE

  14. Dress Code Continued… • UNDERGARMENTS SHOULD NOT BE EXPOSED • ATTIRE MUST BE DEEMED APPROPRIATE FOR SCHOOL BY SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS

ELECTRONIC DEVICES • ELECTRONIC DEVICES SUCH AS IPODS, CAMERAS,OR MP3 PLAYERS ARE PROHIBITED IN THE CLASSROOM • THE SCHOOL IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST OR STOLEN ITEMS OF THIS NATURE. • ANY ITEM CONFISCATED WILL BE HELD AND RETURNED TO THE STUDENT AT THE END OF THE DAY THE FIRST TIME IT IS TAKEN. • SUBSEQUENT INFRACTIONS-A PARENT MUST PICK UP.

  16. LOCKER USAGE • NO STUDENT IS PERMITTED TO SHARE A LOCKER. • THE SCHOOL IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ITEMS STOLEN FROM LOCKERS. • DO NOT SHARE YOUR COMBINATION WITH ANYONE!!!! • BACKPACKS MUST REMAIN IN YOUR LOCKER

  17. Bullying • Bullying is a comprehensive term that describes deliberate actions with the intent of inflicting emotional, physical, or psychological distress. • Bullying is a major offense which will result in disciplinary action including: • Suspension • Expulsion

Central Middle School ensures the success of every student in an environment that maintains high expectations for students and staff, enhances learning, provides developmentally responsive student-centered programs, utilizes state-of-the-art technology, and fosters a partnership with all school stakeholders.
