  • Naively Extrapolating EGRET spectra
    • Powerlaw + IC peaks + EBL absorption
    • Observation time to have a 5σ detection < 50hr
        • Ethr= 30 GeV
        • Flux sensitivity down to 10-11 ph cm-2 s-1

Z = 0.158

F(E>0.1) = 15.4·10-8

 = 2.58

28 Blazars (9 BL Lacs + 19 FSRQs) are expected to be detected with a significance of 5σ in less than 50h

Also we’ll use X-Ray satellite data to catch flaring AGN

SUMMARY
  • The AGN are a primary target for MAGIC
  • We extrapolated EGRET data to predict the observation time for these sources
  • We expect to observe at least 28 AGN with MAGIC
