  3. GOSSIP: Don’t Do It “He who despises his neighbor lacks sense, but a man of understanding keeps silent. He who goes about as a talebearer reveals secrets, but he who is trustworthy conceals a matter.” Proverbs 11:12-13

  4. GOSSIP: Don’t Do It The Three Gates If you are tempted to reveal A tale someone has told About another, make it pass, Before you speak, three gates of gold. These narrow gates: First, ‘Is it true?’ Then, ‘Is it needful?’ In your mind Give truthful answer. And the next Is last and narrowest, ‘Is it kind?’ And if to reach your lips at last It passes through these gateways three, Then you may tell the tale, nor fear What the results of speech may be. T – Is it TRUE? H – Is it HELPFUL? I – Is it INSPIRATIONAL? N – Is it NECESSARY? K – Is it KIND?
