  3. Let’s start to look at what kind of holiday.. March 17 – is a holiday of the Irishmen. In March, 17 is Day of Memory of patron of Ireland, Saint Patrick(St. Patrick's Day). The saint of Patrick brought Christianity on a heathen island and banished all snakes. A parades is are conducted with singing and dances, in honour of Saint Patrick .Irish beer flows «the river».The Irish hymn always sounds on parades.

  4. Doyou know that… … in 1778-1779 by detachments of Irish Volunteers first as an official emblem a shamrock was used. This was the folk army, organized for protecting of Ireland from an external enemy(first of all from France) instead of the regular troops abandoned on a fight against the insurgent of North-American colonies.

  5. Who is The Saint Patrick?... The Saint Patrick –is one of the most reverent saints catholic and protestant churches. He is considered the patron of Ireland. The known temple sanctified to this saint is located in Dublin (the capital of Ireland). According to the legend, Patrick was a shepherd that heard different voices, whereupon done by a missionary and turned the Irishmen to the christian faith. However piety prevented to remain a merry and cheerful man him didn’t refuse from his «love» to delicious foamy beer.

  7. Symbols of the holiday… The symbol of The Saint Patrick Day is a shamrock to be considered, on the example of that Patrick explained to the peasants a theory about the Saint Trinity. In spite of that the holiday has christian roots, mythical creatures became other symbol of Day of Saint Patrick -leprechauns. According to the legend, leprechauns are little men that make a shoe for the representatives of the magic world. Leprechauns like very much to drink beer and ale, sing merry songs and play off people. Leprechauns is very rich - each of them has a pot with a gold, which difficult to find, but maybe. Irish folklore tells quite a bit histories about that, how people tried to find at sly leprechaun, where their treasures are. Yet single character of holiday is the Irish flag consisting of the three colouredstripes : orange, white and green. Irish beer " guinness " is one of the most reverent drinks, that it is necessarily to drink in this holiday.

  9. holiday traditions… In the day of Saint Patrick is supposed to have a drink even a wineglass alcoholic in some Irish bar: At this day all bars become Irish, and all musicians - by Irishes. It is possible to arrange the competitions(not abusing) of glasses of had a drink, in honourof The Saint Patrick and "Emerald Country". There is the so-called "Cup of Patrick" is unit by whisky that had a drink in the day of Saint Patrick. According to the legend orders that till to have a drink glass of whisky, in glass it is necessary to put the sheet " of shamrock"(alleluias). Since the people it is talked we will "Dry Shamrock"

  11. Parades… The biggest street parade is held in the city of New York every year. On this day, thousands of Americans of Irish descent march down the main street of the city - 5th Avenue, thus symbolizing the triumph of the Catholic faith. The parade begins at 44th Street and heading north of the city to 86th Street, then east to 3rd Avenue. Nevertheless, superfluously stormy merriment is not welcomed in the process of parade. Hundreds of orchestras arriving from all counties of Ireland and of all states the USA take part in a parade. It is considered that on this day all must put on the best clothing(sporting style is not accepted), and a mood of participants of parade must be solemn. In a festive morning mass that is traditional catholic service is conducted in the Saint Patrick Cathedral. A parade begins about 11 morning and proceeds to 5 evening.

  12. Holiday kitchen… In spite of the fact that celebration of The Saint Patrick’s Day in a time of the lend, people allowed to eat one's fill itself from the soul, including by meat. It was considered, that on this day all meat put into a pan, The Saint Patrick converts into fish. A traditional dish a cabbage was considered with a bacon. Later a bacon was replaced by salt meat. Salted beef instead of bacon from an economy the Irish-Americans immigrants began to use. Today the kitchen of The Saint Patrick’s Day includes not alone ten of dishes. That characteristically, practically all dishes, including sweets(!), contain beer, both light and dark.

  13. American Beer Soup… ingredients:1)dark beer - 2 cups 2)rye bread - 200 g;3)Water - 1/2 cup ; 4)grated lemon peel - 1 tbsp. Spoon; 5)Sugar - 1 tbsp. spoon Method of preparation: With bread crusts cut off. Crumb finely chop, pour beer and let it sit for 3 hours. Mixture of beer and bread to a boil, add the zest, sugar, and cook 5 minutes. Grind the mixture in a blender until smooth and bring it to a boil. When submitting decorate cream.

  14. Biscuits to beer ingredients: 1)Wheat flour - 3 1/2 cups; 2)processed cheese - 300 g;3)margarine - 350 g; 4)Water - 4 tbsp. Spoons;5)Eggs - 2.; 6)Poppy - 2 tbsp. Spoons;7)salt - 1/2 tsp Method of preparation: Of flour, cheese, margarine, an egg, salt and water make a dough. Make it a large bowl and place in the cold for 30 minutes. Roll out the dough to a thickness of 1 cm, brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with poppy seeds and cut with cookie molds. Bake 10 minutes at 230 º C.

  15. Beef in beer sauce… ingredients:1)Beef meat - 1.2 kg:2)dark beer - 2 cups;3)Onions - 4 heads;4)zucchini - 400g;5)garlic, minced - 1 tbsp. Spoon;6)pitted black olives - 50 grams;7)Sugar - 1 tbsp. Spoon; 8)Wheat flour - 2 tb. spoons;9)olive oil - 6 tablespoons. Spoons;10)ground black pepper, 11)salt to taste Method of preparation: Onion and zucchini cut into cubes. Beef cut portions, season with salt and pepper and fry in butter. Add onion, zucchini, garlic, sprinkle with sugar and cook for 3 minutes .Flour is slashed, pour beer, simmer the sauce for 10 minutes. Then, add the beef, olives and cook until tender. Serve with pickled vegetables, issued the greens.
